In order to implement the strategic deployment of innovation-driven development and common prosperity, and to precisely meet the high-quality development needs of the textile new materials industry in Zhejiang Province, and to consolidate the foundation of university discipline construction, the "Zhejiang Province Common Prosperity Station Academic Exchange Activity and High-level Talent Empowerment of Textile New Materials for University Discipline Construction in Zhejiang Province" was held in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province on July 18, 2026, organized by the China Textile Engineering Society. 

This meeting focuses on the core theme of "Innovation-driven empowerment for common prosperity, talent leading development", concentrating on the deep integration of cutting-edge technologies in the textile new materials field and the construction of university disciplines. The aim is to leverage the intellectual support of high-level talents to promote the coordinated upgrading of the four major sections of scientific research platforms, teaching staff, talent cultivation, and industry-university-research collaboration in textile universities in Zhejiang Province, thereby helping to enhance the comprehensive strength and industrial service capabilities of universities in the textile field in Zhejiang. 

This exchange meeting invited several high-level experts in the textile field to deliver keynote speeches. Professor Yao Juming, the vice president of Zhejiang University of Technology, shared the path for the high-quality development of disciplines at local industry-oriented universities; Professor Wang Dong, the vice president of Wuhan Textile University, focused on the innovation of intelligent textile new materials and the intelligent upgrade of disciplines; Professor Tao Guangming from Huazhong Normal University exchanged views on the research on intelligent fibers contributing to the new engineering discipline with teacher education characteristics to serve the high-quality development of future industries; Professor Wang Chunhong from the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Tianjin University of Technology discussed the new ecological hemp fiber materials and the construction of the green textile discipline; Professor Ma Pipo from the School of Textile Science and Engineering of Jiangnan University introduced the practical experience of integrating industry and research in the textile discipline and the industrial transformation. In addition, Professor Qi Dongming, the deputy director of the Zhejiang Modern Textile Technology Innovation Center, Professor Shen Jiajia from Jiaxing University, Professor Meng Jiaoguang from Xi'an Polytechnic University, Professor Liu Zheng from Zhejiang University of Technology, Professor Lu Yehu from Soochow University, and Professor Zou Zuan Yong from Shaoxing University, among other renowned scholars, each from different perspectives such as collaborative innovation in industry-university-research, integrated teaching and research education, cutting-edge research on intelligent fibers, AI textile applications, internationalized education, new health protection materials, and modern spinning technology, offered suggestions and advice for the construction of the textile discipline in Zhejiang. 

During the meeting, experts were also organized to conduct special discussions on various topics such as the direction of discipline construction in textile universities in Zhejiang, the talent cultivation model, and the mechanism of industry-university-research cooperation. Through these discussions, a consensus on high-quality development was reached. 

The holding of this academic exchange meeting has brought together the top intellectual resources in the national textile field, injecting new impetus into the discipline construction of textile universities in Zhejiang Province, facilitating the transformation and upgrading of the Zhejiang textile industry towards high-end, intelligent and green directions, and contributing the textile technological strength to the construction of the Common Prosperity Demonstration Zone.
